Education
Natasha is a proud product of Ohio’s public schools. She continues to be invested in the success of public schools: her oldest child has reached school age and is proudly enrolled in public school.
Public schools should be the state government’s first funding priority. The quality of education offered will determine Ohio’s future. If all schools receive proper levels of state funding, then every kid can receive a quality education without families being pinched to cover the gaps in funding or competing with one another for the best school districts.
Ohio must embrace the bipartisan Fair School Funding Formula to give predictability and opportunity to Ohio’s children. Voucher programs, like EdChoice, have led to unaccountable private schools stripping funding from public schools while freely picking and choosing which kids they want to accept. Corporate private schools are actively funneling Ohioans' tax dollars into the coffers of shareholders and major corporations while having higher administrative costs and spending less in the classroom than public schools. Not to mention families with school-age children are receiving marketing and recruiting cold calls that are paid for with their own tax dollars.
